1. What do I need to do?
You will need to sign both of the contract documents within the specified deadline. The Adobe Sign emails will expire after this period.
You will also need to check with your insurer if they require to be notified that the owner (and loss payee) of the car has changed.
If the insurer does require to be notified, please inform them that the owner will change from Volvo Car UK Limited (Volvo) to UK Automotive Solutions Limited (UKAS) as of the effective date, which will be confirmed to you by us ahead of the change.
2. Can you tell me more about your financial partner?
Volvo Car UK Limited (Volvo) is working with an independent asset owning company called UK Automotive Solutions Limited (UKAS) who will be the owner and registered keeper of the cars under the new contracts. This means that UKAS hires the car to you under the new Hire Agreement but will appoint Volvo as an agent to perform services on their behalf. You will notice the following when you move to the new contracts:
• The Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) will be split into a Hire Agreement with UKAS and Services Agreement with Volvo – meaning that you as a customer need to accept two agreements.
• The payments you make for your subscription or lease will be split between Volvo and UKAS, which is displayed in the email that we sent to you and on the invoices.
3. Can you explain in more detail what the changes are?
In order to gain access to the best possible financing so that we can continue to deliver a competitive offer and price going forward, we are now collaborating with an independent asset owning company called UK Automotive Solutions Limited (UKAS) for the financing of cars offered through Care by Volvo subscription and Volvo lease. This means that UK Automotive Solutions Limited will be the owner and registered keeper of the cars going forward and a part of the monthly payment you make to us will be sent to them.
In line with the Consumer Credit Act 1974, consumers (including sole traders) will receive a regulated Hire Agreement. If you are a corporate customer, you will receive an unregulated Hire Agreement. Your contract length, price and other applicable charges will remain the same and you can still enjoy your Volvo experience the same way you do today.
4. Why are these changes necessary?
Volvo Car UK Limited is collaborating with an independent asset owning company called UK Automotive Solutions Limited (UKAS) for the financing of cars offered through Care by Volvo subscription and Volvo lease. We are making this change to gain access to the best possible financing solution to ensure we can be competitive with our pricing and provide the best customer offer moving forward.
5. What will happen if I don’t sign the documentation or miss the deadline?
It is very important to sign both of the contract documents within the specified deadline. The Adobe Sign emails will expire after this period. However, it is not mandatory for you to accept the new contracts. If you prefer not to sign or you do not sign both contracts within this time frame, you will by default remain on your current contract and terms.
The changes in the new contracts are only minor or administrative changes and will not have a negative impact on you. You will still pay the same monthly fee to Volvo and the other key terms of your contract will be kept the same (or in some cases could be better). In some cases, certain applicable charges (listed in Appendix 1 of T&Cs) might be lower under the new contracts.
Also, by accepting the new contracts within the specified deadline, you will receive £100 deduction on your invoice; consisting of a £50 deduction from your 2nd invoice, and a £50 deduction from your 3rd invoice.
6. What are the differences between contracts?
We have made sure that for you as the customer, the changes in the new contracts are only minor or administrative changes. You will still pay the same monthly fee to us like before and the other key terms of your contract will be kept the same. In some cases certain other applicable charges (listed in Appendix 1 of T&Cs) under your contract might be lower under the new contracts, which is a positive change for you.
One of the minor or administrative changes in the new contracts which you may notice is that UKAS is considered to be the loss payee under your insurance policy, whereas under your current contract the loss payee is Volvo. This change is being made to reflect the fact that, under the new contracts, UKAS will be the owner of the car and your insurer should settle any claims made under your policy with UKAS. The terms and conditions of your insurance policy should provide for this but you will need to check with your insurer if they require to be notified that the owner of the car has changed.
Another minor change in the new contracts which you may notice is that you will now be required to obtain the required documentation, including proof of insurance, any time that you want to drive the car outside the United Kingdom. You are legally required to obtain the required documentation any time that you want to drive the car outside the United Kingdom, so we have updated this in the new contracts.
7. How do I confirm if I will benefit from lower applicable charges?
In some cases certain other applicable charges (listed in Appendix 1 of T&Cs) under your contract might be lower under the new contracts, which is a positive change for you.
To determine if the charges will be lower in your particular case, you will need to compare the charges between your existing contract and new contract:
• Existing contract: Listed in Appendix 1 of T&Cs
• New contract: Listed in Hire Agreement (Key Financial Information section).

8. When does the new agreement become effective?
If you have signed both of the contract documents within the specified deadline, you will receive an email nearer the time with confirmation of the change and the effective date. However, if you have any default on your contractual obligation prior to this date, you will not qualify to enter the new contract and therefore shall remain on your current agreement with Volvo Cars.
9. What happens if I made an Advance Payment?
Any Advance Payment you made for your lease will remain with Volvo Car UK Ltd. Your contract length, price and other applicable charges will remain the same
10. What happens to my existing subscription agreement?
On the effective date of your new contracts, your existing subscription agreement will terminate and will be replaced by the new contracts. We have transferred any rights which continue after termination of the existing subscription agreement to UK Automotive Solutions Limited (UKAS). This transfer will not reduce your contractual rights.
11. How do I confirm my subscription contract type (fixed or flex)?
Your subscription contract type (fixed or flex) will remain the same. You can find your subscription contract type stated in the new Hire Agreement (Key Financial Information section).
If the Hire Agreement does not contain this information, please refer to your original documents:
• Order Confirmation Email.
• Handover protocol.
