We will furthermore process your personal data in order to be able to recognise you as a recurrent customer and thus enhance your experience as a customer.
The legal basis for our processing of your personal data in order to administer your purchase, administration of your request for related services and to follow up on the delivery as well as status of your eventual credit application is that this processing is necessary for the performance of our contract with you. The legal basis for our processing of your personal data in order to follow up on your satisfaction, communicate updates related to the product(s), statistics, research and development and to communicate with you in relation to eventual recalls and other matters concerning the products(s) as well as to recognise you as a recurrent customer is that this processing is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interest. The legal basis for processing of your personal data in relation to recalls which are performed due to a legal requirement is that this processing is necessary for our compliance with a legal obligation.
In addition to above, we will also process your personal data for marketing purposes. Besides processing your personal data to be able to send you our marketing communication material we will process your eventual response and interactions with the digital marketing communication that you receive and your purchase history in order to deliver relevant and high quality marketing communication and for statistical purposes. Your personal data will in this context be used for online and social profiling purposes in order to improve our marketing communication. Disclosure and recipients of your personal data
Your personal data will be disclosed to and processed by your appointed retailer, our affiliates and business partners for the above purposes (including credit checks). Your personal data will also be disclosed to Vehicle Registration Authorities when applicable. Your personal data will furthermore be disclosed to and processed by Volvo Car Corporation (a Swedish legal entity with registration number 556074-3089). In relation to our business partners located outside of EEA, we will transfer your personal data with the basis of the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission.

Retention time
We will retain your personal data up to five (5) years after you are no longer registered as an owner or driver of a Volvo vehicle. In relation to purchases other than vehicles, we will retain your personal data up to twelve (12) months after your purchase. Please note that we will retain your personal data up to twelve (12) months after you have opted-out from receiving further marketing communication material from us.
