1. Promoter: Volvo Car UK Ltd, Scandinavia House, Norreys Drive, Maidenhead SL6 4FL (“VCUK”).

2. The Electric Eden Experience Competition is subject to the following conditions and is open only to UK residents who are 25 years or over. - The prize is the loan of a Volvo pure electric car for 3 months (to include the date of the Event) (see separate car loan terms below), tickets for the winner and a friend to the Eden Project in 2023 (the “Event”), to be claimed by the 31 December 2023, and two nights of accommodation for two at a luxury hotel in Cornwall of VCUK’s choice, on dates to be mutually agreed with VCUK subject always to availability. The prize does not include the cost of electricity during the loan of the vehicle, subsistence, or any extra activities at the Event.

3. To enter the competition, entrants must like the Volvo Electric Eden Experience competition post featured on the @volvocaruk Instagram grid, tag a friend in the comments, share the post on their Instagram Stories and follow the @volvocaruk account on Instagram. Competition entrants can earn 5 extra entries into the competition by posting a short video on their Instagram Stories capturing their favourite sounds of nature and tagging both @volvocaruk and @edenprojectcornwall.

4. Entries will be open from 7th June 2023 and will be accepted up until 00:00 BST 26th July 2023 (the “Competition Deadline”). Entries made after this point will not be counted. Users are welcome to submit multiple entries solely via the methods outlined in point 3 above.

5. By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions and that you are eligible to claim any prize you may win.

6. There will be 1 winner of the main prize who will be selected on 28th July 2023 at random. A panel of VCUK employees will review all entries after the Competition Deadline and check that the entry has fulfilled the criteria stated in point 3 above. A random name generator will then be used to select the winner to ensure a fair process. The decision of the panel will be final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

7. VCUK will send a direct message to the chosen winner via Instagram notifying them of the win. The winner will need to provide their email address, contact phone number, and home address to the VCUK @volvocaruk Instagram account via a direct message in response.

8. Should there be no response from the winner within 48 hours, a new winner will be selected and notified, and the same process will be repeated until there is a confirmed winner for the prize.

9. No liability is accepted for submissions that are lost or not received. No liability is accepted in the event there is no response to telephone calls, direct messages or e-mails when contacting a chosen winner.

10. By law, VCUK must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact VCUK. In such circumstances, VCUK must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

11. The prize is non-negotiable, non-transferable and non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for any cash alternatives in whole or in part.

12. VCUK reserve the right to exclude any entries which it believes to be inappropriate, fraudulent, or based on misconduct.

13. You agree that the VCUK may, but is not required to, make your entry available on its website, social media and any other media and in connection with any publicity of the competition. You agree to grant VCUK a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in the competition entry to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the competition entry for such purposes.

14. No purchase necessary.

15. This prize competition in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Instagram. By participating in this prize competition, you agree to a complete release of Instagram, or any other social media platforms, from any claims relating to the prize competition.

16. VCUK will not accept liability for minors left unattended at the Event.

17. Prize winners are responsible for their own property (including clothing, umbrellas, child seats etc) at the Event - please ensure it is always kept safe. VCUK accepts no responsibility for loss or theft of, or damage to property except if caused by VCUK's negligence.

18. VCUK shall not be held responsible for any cancellation of any part of the prize, event or activities, which may be due to circumstance outside its control, including - but not limited to - sickness, adverse weather conditions or Covid-19 factors. There will be no alternative offer in respect of any such cancellation.

Car Prize Conditions

19. As part of the prize, a Volvo car is being offered as a loan for 3 months (to include the date of the Event). Collection details will be agreed with the winner at their local Volvo cars dealer. Volvo shall at its sole discretion be entitled to change the model of the loan car.

20. The VCUK motor insurance policy for the loan car is third party only. Personal effects and clothing carried in the car are not covered under the VCUK motor insurance policy.

21. All drivers of the loan car must be at least 25 years of age, have a valid driving licence and will be subject to the following restrictions under VCUK’s car insurance:
• Over 25 years unlimited up a maximum age of 75 unless a letter is received from the doctor stating the ability to drive.

22. All driving licences must be valid for insurance purposes and up to date (i.e. correct address, points removed where they are no longer valid and must be full not provisional).

23. All drivers will be expected to send their driving licence for inspection before receiving the loan car. Failure to do so may prevent you from using a loan car for the Event.

24. It is the sole responsibility of the driver of the loan car to notify VCUK, if they have acquired 6 or more penalty points, are banned from driving or received a DD (dangerous driving offence), DR (drink or drug related driving offences) or IN (driving without insurance). This does not necessarily exclude you from the Event and wherever possible we will endeavour to extend the motor insurance policy.

25. Child seats will not be provided. Please ensure that you provide and fit your own child restraints applicable to approved height restrictions.

26. No smoking is permitted in the car.

27. The driver hereby declares that he or she is in good health, their eyesight is of the standard required for the UK road driving test and that they are not suffering any illness or disability which may make it unsafe for them to drive.

28. The driver accepts that he or she shall be solely responsible for any decision as to their fitness to drive and that if at any point they are not fit to do so, then they shall cease driving immediately. The driver confirms that at all times when he or she is in charge of the loan car, they are not over the current UK legal limit for driving whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs that may affect their ability to drive.

29. The driver will at all times during driving, operate the car with reasonable care and hereby agrees to indemnify fully VCUK, their representatives, agents and servants against any action or claims for damages (including costs) which may be brought against it, and or its representatives, agents and servants arising out of any negligent, reckless or irresponsible driving on the part of the driver.

30. VCUK will at all times endeavour to make sure that all cars supplied, whether by it or by any other organisation or individual, will at all times be safe and in roadworthy conditions.

31. The driver will inspect the car on collection and confirms that should he or she have any cause for concern as to the roadworthiness or safety of the car, they will bring the matter immediately to the attention of a Volvo representative.

32. The driver will return the car by the agreed date to their local Volvo cars dealer. The car should be in the same condition as it was received. The driver agrees to be liable for the cost of any damage to the car and will compensate VCUK for any delay in returning the car after the specified date.

33. The driver will sign any documentation required pertaining to the loan of the vehicle and agree to any separate terms & conditions of the car loan.

34. VCUK reserves the right to terminate any drivers’ involvement in the Volvo car loan prize at any time and for any reason.

35. VCUK, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of VCUK, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

36. It is the winner’s responsibility to declare any tax liability to HM Revenue and Customs

37. Winners may be required to participate in related publicity without further reward. E.g. be photographed for website/newspaper stories, provide a short statement about their win.

38. VCUK will only process your personal information as set out in the Volvo Privacy Policy https://www.volvocars.com/uk/legal/privacy/privacy-customer-privacy-policy .

39. VCUK reserves the right to withdraw or amend without notice this prize competition in the event of any unforeseen circumstances outside of its reasonable control.

40. VCUK reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

41. These terms and conditions are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
