If you have already booked your pure electric test drive experience at The Eden Project, we can’t wait for you to experience our pure electric cars. Please make sure that you have completed a driver’s license check in advance and bring your license on the day. We are currently unable to offer test drives to anyone aged under 25. Further restrictions and T&Cs apply.

Do I need to purchase visitor tickets to The Eden Project to access the test drive hub?
No - The Eden Project Volvo Electric Test Drive Hub is located in the coach car park and is accessible to anyone. If you wish to visit The Eden Project you will need to purchase a ticket from the visitor centre.

What Covid-19 safety measures are in place?
Every car is fully sanitised and cleaned before each test drive. Your test drive will be unaccompanied to avoid being in proximity with someone outside of your household.
What will the process be upon my arrival to the hub?
Upon arrival at the hub you will be welcomed and your paperwork will be checked. Please do bring your driver's license with you as this will be used to confirm your identity and will be held safely until the vehicle is returned. The staff will complete a product and safety briefing before you set off on your pure electric experience.
What happens on my test drive?
You will be able to enjoy an unaccompanied test drive following a set route which will be programmed into the car’s navigation system. If this is your first time driving a pure electric, a member of staff will walk you through the car’s key features to ensure you’re comfortable before you test drive. Please do get familiar with your chosen model in advance by watching the relevant product walk around video. Links here; XC40 Recharge or C40 Recharge. It is important that you return the car at the set time to ensure that the car can be cleaned and be prepared for the next driver.
What happens if I dent or damage the car during my test drive?
An insurance excess of £500 is payable in the event of any claim. If the value of the repair is lower than the excess charge applicable, you will only be required to contribute the actual repair cost. The excess payment only applies if a claim cannot be recovered from other third party insurers. We have chosen a set route that avoids narrow roads and obstacles as much as possible to ensure a safe test drive.
Am I able to take friends/family with me on the test drive?
You are welcome to take friends and family with you however this is done entirely at your own risk. Any drivers of the vehicle must be aged over 25, have successfully passed the license check and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Am I able to fit a car seat to the car?
Yes - you are able to fit a car seat however this is done so entirely at your own risk. Volvo is unable to fit or supply child car seats for test drive purposes.
Am I able to bring my dog on the test drive?
Unfortunately not. You are welcome to leave your dog at the test drive hub (water will be available for them) however this is done so entirely at your own risk.
Can I leave The Eden Project to complete my test drive and re-enter once finished?
Yes, please advise Eden staff at the main ticket office who will be able to advise you of the re-entry process.
Am I able to test drive hybrid or petrol/diesel cars from this test drive hub?
