Link Volvo On Call account to Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa

To be able to voice-control some of the Volvo On Call functions with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa you need to link your Volvo On Call account to the Google or Alexa app.

Link your Volvo On Call account to Google Assistant

The first time you tell Google Assistant that you want to talk with Volvo on Call, the assistant will ask if you want to link your Volvo On Call account to Google. Answer Yes.

Enter your Volvo ID (email address/mobile number) and password in the notification shown in your phone or tablet. Click on "Login".

Tap on "Allow access" in the page shown if you want to allow Google access to your Volvo On Call account. This is required to be able to use the service.

Now your Volvo On Call account is linked to Google and you can start to use the service by saying "OK Google, I want to talk with Volvo On Call", then you will be asked which voice-controlled function you want to use. To shorten the interaction, you can also ask your question directly when you call up Volvo On Call, for example, by saying "OK Google, ask Volvo On Call how much petrol do I have left" or "OK Google, ask Volvo On Call to turn on the heating in my car".

Link your Volvo On Call account to Amazon Alexa

Activate Volvo On Call "skill" in your Alexa app.

Say: "Alexa, open Volvo On Call."

The app will announce that the Volvo On Call account is not linked.

Follow the instructions in the app.

Now your Alexa account is linked to Volvo on Call and you can start to use the service by saying "Alexa, open Volvo On Call", then you will be asked which voice-controlled function you want to use. To shorten the interaction, you can also ask your question directly when you call up Volvo On Call, by saying, for example, "Alexa, ask Volvo on Call to turn on the heater" or "Alexa, ask Volvo on Call if I locked the doors in my car". For Amazon Alexa, the service is only available in English.
