What is the Recharge Refund Offer?
What is Recharge and what is the Recharge Refund Offer?
Recharge is how Volvo references its plug-in electric lineup. Both PHEVs and BEVs will be referred to as “Recharge”. The Recharge Refund offer, which will start in Spring 2020, is intended to encourage owners to drive PHEV’s using electric power. In order to encourage drivers to do so, Volvo will refund them for a portion of the electricity used in a year.
How will the refund be payed out?
Volvo Cars will provide your Electricity Savings Amount to you by either (i) provide a direct payment to your bank account; or (ii) by check sent to the address you provide. You will be able to elect how you receive your Electricity Savings Amount at the end of the Offer Period. The payment of the Electricity Savings Amount may be subject to third party specific terms.
How much will customers be compensated?
The refund will be based on electric consumption in kWh extracted from the driver’s journal in the Volvo On Call app. After a year of driving based on the driver’s journal, the amount of electricity used will be multiplied by an averaged electrical rate of $0.13 per kWh.
Which cars are eligible for the Recharge Refund offer and when does it go into effect?
All Plug-In Hybrids sold or leased to a retail customer between October 1, 2019 and June 30, 2020 are eligible for the Recharge Offer.
The offer goes into effect in the spring of 2020. At which time, drivers must have an active Volvo On Call subscription and “Opt In” to the offer. Owners will be notified of required actions via Volvo On Call. Data and usage will be tracked and visible within Volvo On Call.
Is the amount of electricity refund infinite?
The refund will be capped at 3000 kWh.
