As you steer, the headlights turn to illuminate the curve ahead. LED illumination allows you to enjoy high beam with even greater radiation and range. The system uses a camera at the upper edge of the windshield to detect the headlights of oncoming vehicles or the taillights of a vehicle directly ahead. When this happens, the headlights will automatically switch from high beams to low beams. When the camera no longer detects the headlights/ taillights of other vehicles, your headlights will switch back to high beams after several seconds. In a frontal collision, the driver and passenger airbags help protect your head, face and chest. The airbags adapt the level of inflation depending on the force of the impact. The driver’s airbag also interacts with the deformation of the collapsible steering column.

Helping to reduce the risk for more damage and injury after a collision – like colliding into other cars or people – your Volvo brakes automatically when the safety belt pre-tensioners or an airbag are activated.

As a vehicle enters your blind spot, this function can alert you via a warning light built into the front door post – left and right. Together with the door mirrors this helps you assess the feasibility of a lane change. BLIS is activated once the car exceeds 6 mph and reacts to almost any type of vehicle, including motorcycles.
Cross Traffic Alert uses rear sensors to alert you of crossing traffic from the sides when reversing out of a parking space.

In certain frontal collisions, the brake pedal is designed to release and move down to the floor to help reduce the risk for injuries on the right foot and leg when the foot is on the brake pedal. This Volvo safety innovation is triggered by the same sensors that activate the safety belt pre-tensioners and airbags when needed.

City Safety™ is a support system designed to help the driver avoid low speed collisions when driving in slow-moving, stop-and-go traffic. City Safety™ is active from 2.5 mph.
-Applies the brakes automatically, thereby avoiding or helping to reduce the effects of a collision.
-The system will not intervene in situations where the driver actively steers the vehicle or applies the brakes.
-Activates in situations where the driver has not applied the brakes in time, which means that the system cannot help the driver in all situations.

Automatically activated during daylight, these lights make your car more conspicuous. And when the low beam headlights are needed for illumination, they are automatically engaged by a twilight sensor.

Keep control of the distance to the vehicle in front and rest assured your Volvo will alert if you come to close. If the Adaptive Cruise Control is disengaged and a vehicle in front comes too close, the distance alert function activates a warning light to help you keep a proper distance. The warning light is displayed with a symbol on the windscreen if your car is equipped with the full-graphic head-up display.

Integrated in the front door handles, the ground lighting illuminates the area beneath the door handles for a welcoming feel when you approach your car at night. It also makes it easier to locate the door handle. Ground lighting is activated when you unlock your car using the remote control.

A camera looks at the road ahead while Driver Alert Control checks on your steering inputs to see how they compare to your regular driving style. If it senses that you’re driving more erratically, or there are signs that you’re drowsy or distracted, it’ll give you an audible warning and a message on the instrument panel suggesting you take a break. Active at speeds over 40 mph.

Our booster seats can be adjusted to two heights as the children grow. When the booster seats are not needed, they're easily folded into the rear seat cushions.
The upper setting is designed for children measuring 37-47 in. and weighing between 33 and 55 lbs., while the lower setting is intended for children between 45 and 55 in. height and weighing between 48 and 80 lbs.

If you encounter a situation and need to apply the brakes in a panic stop, the brake lights will flash at a rate of four times per second, which will telegraph a clear message to following traffic behind you that there’s a potential problem ahead. Once you slow to below 6 mph, the brake lights stop pulsing and your hazard lights take over.

All the panels and door sides are padded with energy-absorbing materials to help reduce the risk of injury to the car’s passengers.

Head restraints offer outstanding protection regardless of a person’s height, whether they are seated in the front or the rear.
-Rear middle head restraint can be fully retracted into the backrest.
-The outer head restraints can fold forward to improve rear vision.

Hill Descent Control offers a smooth and controlled hill descent on steep, rough and slippery roads. Simply push the Hill Descent Control button and the vehicle will descend using the brake system to control each wheel’s rotating speed. It also makes it easier to begin acceleration when towing a trailer or pulling a boat up a boat ramp. The technology also works in reverse gear.

Hill Start Assist allows you to start uphill or downhill without the car moving while you move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator. It keeps the brakes applied a short period after you've released the brake pedal.

In a frontal offset collision, a side impact or a roll­over accident the Inflatable Curtain (IC) helps protect the heads of both front and rear passengers who are sitting on the sides. It also stays inflated for several seconds to provide prolonged protection in the event of secondary impacts.

Laminated glass in the side windows efficiently helps to protect your parked Volvo from uninvited visits. And even if the glass is broken, it's extremely hard to penetrate. The laminated glass also contributes to a quiet cabin.

Lane Keeping Aid can help prevent single-vehicle road departures. It uses a digital camera to register the lane markings and help monitor the car’s position on the road. If you get close to a lane marking and LKA senses you're not in full control, the system will gently steer the car back to help keep the car in the lane. If you unintentionally cross the lane marking you'll be alerted by haptic vibrations in the steering wheel or a warning sound. When you intentionally cross a lane marker using the direction indicators, LKA is not activated.

Advanced LED light technology allows a supremely wide and long light pattern.
-No need to switch between low/high beam as your headlights stay on high beam all the time. When another car approaches from the opposite direction, the system prevents dazzling the other driver switching to low beam.

At speeds of up to 25 mph, the optional fog lights with cornering function illuminates the area in which you’re turning at up to 15 degrees around the car – for instance if you’re parking, turning into a small road or driving through a narrow gateway at night. To enhance your control during reversing in the dark, the cornering light activates on both sides to illuminate the area around your car.

Using automatic steering assistance, this system helps you avoid collisions with oncoming vehicles. If you cross a lane marking in the way of an oncoming vehicle, your car automatically steers back and warns you. Active beginning at 37 mph.

This semi-autonomous drive system let's you follow the traffic flow within the current lane. Pilot Assist provides gentle steering support to help you keep the car within the lane markings while helping you keep your set speed and distance to the vehicle in front of you. Steering support is initiated as soon as Pilot Assist detects the lane markings on both sides of the lane. Pilot Assist steering support is active from standstill up to legal highway speeds.
When Adaptive Cruise Control detects a slower vehicle in front, the speed automatically adapts to that vehicle. If the vehicle in front slows down and stops, ACC will make the your vehicle stop comfortably behind it, and then keep the brakes engaged. The driver can adjust time gaps.

The power child locks enable you to conveniently lock the rear doors and rear power windows from the driver’s seat and prevent them from being opened from the inside.

The power parking brake is easily engaged by pulling the control upwards. You can also set the parking brake to engage automatically every time you stop the engine. It is released automatically as soon as you press the accelerator with the transmission in the DRIVE or REVERSE mode. You can also release it manually by pressing the control downwards.

Rear Collision Warning system works when a vehicle approaches fast from behind, the system calculates that there's a risk of collision. If a collision cannot be avoided, the system tensions the safety belts just before the impact to help keep all occupants safely restrained. To help reduce the strain on the occupants at the impact the system also activates full auto­-braking if your car is at standstill.

Our passenger compartment is reinforced with a great amount of one of the strongest steel types available – boron steel.
-In a collision, this steel helps to dissipate the energy of the crash to reduce the impact on those inside the car.

With Road Sign Information you don't have to miss important road signs. A forward camera detects speed limit, "no overtaking", "no entry" and various types of supplementary signs. The actual sign is then displayed in either the speedometer, the head-up display (if equipped) – or Sensus Navigation in the center console to help keep you constantly alert on current restrictions.

Pre-tensioners activate to tighten safety belts within fractions of a second in the event of a collision. The safety belts at the first and second row's outer positions then release a little to give less strain on the upper body. In a side-collision, the side airbags inflate instantly to help protect the chest and hip. The side airbags are located in the ideal spot on the front seatback.

Our convenient Park Assist Pilot makes parking enjoyable. It measures the parking space and parks your car by taking over the steering. It handles both parallel and perpendicular parking and can also assist when leaving a tight parking space.

Activated when you engage reverse gear, rear park assist helps you when reversing into tight spaces. The audio system is turned down and a pulsating sound from the rear loudspeakers becomes a continuous tone as you approach an obstacle. The remaining distance is also shown in the center console color display.

Effectively concealing your gear in the load compartment, this load cover automatically slides upwards to facilitate loading and unloading while being fully extended – a feature that's particularly convenient in combination with the power tailgate.

The power parking brake is easily engaged by pulling the control upwards. You can also set the parking brake to engage automatically every time you stop the engine. It is released automatically as soon as you press the accelerator with the transmission in the DRIVE or REVERSE mode. You can also release it manually by pressing the control downwards.

Everyone inside your Volvo can enjoy the comfort of power windows. Controls are conveniently located in the door armrests. And if you’re travelling with small children, you can lock the rear windows from the driver’s seat.

Once activated, the rain sensor can start the windshield wipers as soon as it begins to rain or if water splashes onto the window. For your convenience, it can also automatically adapt the intermittent-wiper function. Its sensitivity can be adjusted via a ring on the wiper stalk.

As you steer, the headlights turn to illuminate the curve ahead. LED illumination allows you to enjoy high beam with even greater radiation and range. In a frontal collision, the driver and passenger airbags help protect your head, face and chest. The airbags adapt the level of inflation depending on the force of the impact. The driver’s airbag also interacts with the deformation of the collapsible steering column.

Helping to reduce the risk for more damage and injury after a collision – like colliding into other cars or people – your Volvo brakes automatically when the safety belt pre-tensioners or an airbag are activated.

As a vehicle enters your blind spot, this function can alert you via a warning light built into the front door post – left and right. Together with the door mirrors this helps you assess the feasibility of a lane change. BLIS is activated once the car exceeds 6 mph and reacts to almost any type of vehicle, including motorcycles.
Cross Traffic Alert uses rear sensors to alert you of crossing traffic from the sides when reversing out of a parking space.

In certain frontal collisions, the brake pedal is designed to release and move down to the floor to help reduce the risk for injuries on the right foot and leg when the foot is on the brake pedal. This Volvo safety innovation is triggered by the same sensors that activate the safety belt pre-tensioners and airbags when needed.

City Safety™ is a support system designed to help the driver avoid low speed collisions when driving in slow-moving, stop-and-go traffic. City Safety™ is active from 2.5 mph.
-Applies the brakes automatically, thereby avoiding or helping to reduce the effects of a collision.
-The system will not intervene in situations where the driver actively steers the vehicle or applies the brakes.
-Activates in situations where the driver has not applied the brakes in time, which means that the system cannot help the driver in all situations.

Automatically activated during daylight, these lights make your car more conspicuous. And when the low beam headlights are needed for illumination, they are automatically engaged by a twilight sensor.

Keep control of the distance to the vehicle in front and rest assured your Volvo will alert if you come to close. If the Adaptive Cruise Control is disengaged and a vehicle in front comes too close, the distance alert function activates a warning light to help you keep a proper distance. The warning light is displayed with a symbol on the windscreen if your car is equipped with the full-graphic head-up display.

Integrated in the front door handles, the ground lighting illuminates the area beneath the door handles for a welcoming feel when you approach your car at night. It also makes it easier to locate the door handle. Ground lighting is activated when you unlock your car using the remote control.

A camera looks at the road ahead while Driver Alert Control checks on your steering inputs to see how they compare to your regular driving style. If it senses that you’re driving more erratically, or there are signs that you’re drowsy or distracted, it’ll give you an audible warning and a message on the instrument panel suggesting you take a break. Active at speeds over 40 mph.

Our booster seats can be adjusted to two heights as the children grow. When the booster seats are not needed, they're easily folded into the rear seat cushions.
The upper setting is designed for children measuring 37-47 in. and weighing between 33 and 55 lbs., while the lower setting is intended for children between 45 and 55 in. height and weighing between 48 and 80 lbs.

If you encounter a situation and need to apply the brakes in a panic stop, the brake lights will flash at a rate of four times per second, which will telegraph a clear message to following traffic behind you that there’s a potential problem ahead. Once you slow to below 6 mph, the brake lights stop pulsing and your hazard lights take over.

All the panels and door sides are padded with energy-absorbing materials to help reduce the risk of injury to the car’s passengers.

Head restraints offer outstanding protection regardless of a person’s height, whether they are seated in the front or the rear.
-Rear middle head restraint can be fully retracted into the backrest.
-The outer head restraints can fold forward to improve rear vision.

Hill Descent Control offers a smooth and controlled hill descent on steep, rough and slippery roads. Simply push the Hill Descent Control button and the vehicle will descend using the brake system to control each wheel’s rotating speed. It also makes it easier to begin acceleration when towing a trailer or pulling a boat up a boat ramp. The technology also works in reverse gear.

Hill Start Assist allows you to start uphill or downhill without the car moving while you move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator. It keeps the brakes applied a short period after you've released the brake pedal.

HomeLink® can be used to control external home items such as garage doors, home alarms and exterior lighting – all without leaving your Volvo.

In a frontal offset collision, a side impact or a roll­over accident the Inflatable Curtain (IC) helps protect the heads of both front and rear passengers who are sitting on the sides. It also stays inflated for several seconds to provide prolonged protection in the event of secondary impacts.

Laminated glass in the side windows efficiently helps to protect your parked Volvo from uninvited visits. And even if the glass is broken, it's extremely hard to penetrate. The laminated glass also contributes to a quiet cabin.

Lane Keeping Aid can help prevent single-vehicle road departures. It uses a digital camera to register the lane markings and help monitor the car’s position on the road. If you get close to a lane marking and LKA senses you're not in full control, the system will gently steer the car back to help keep the car in the lane. If you unintentionally cross the lane marking you'll be alerted by haptic vibrations in the steering wheel or a warning sound. When you intentionally cross a lane marker using the direction indicators, LKA is not activated.

Advanced LED light technology allows a supremely wide and long light pattern.
-No need to switch between low/high beam as your headlights stay on high beam all the time. When another car approaches from the opposite direction, the system prevents dazzling the other driver switching to low beam.

At speeds of up to 25 mph, the optional fog lights with cornering function illuminates the area in which you’re turning at up to 15 degrees around the car – for instance if you’re parking, turning into a small road or driving through a narrow gateway at night. To enhance your control during reversing in the dark, the cornering light activates on both sides to illuminate the area around your car.

Using automatic steering assistance, this system helps you avoid collisions with oncoming vehicles. If you cross a lane marking in the way of an oncoming vehicle, your car automatically steers back and warns you. Active beginning at 37 mph.

This semi-autonomous drive system let's you follow the traffic flow within the current lane. Pilot Assist provides gentle steering support to help you keep the car within the lane markings while helping you keep your set speed and distance to the vehicle in front of you. Steering support is initiated as soon as Pilot Assist detects the lane markings on both sides of the lane. Pilot Assist steering support is active from standstill up to legal highway speeds.
When Adaptive Cruise Control detects a slower vehicle in front, the speed automatically adapts to that vehicle. If the vehicle in front slows down and stops, ACC will make the your vehicle stop comfortably behind it, and then keep the brakes engaged. The driver can adjust time gaps.

The power child locks enable you to conveniently lock the rear doors and rear power windows from the driver’s seat and prevent them from being opened from the inside.

The power parking brake is easily engaged by pulling the control upwards. You can also set the parking brake to engage automatically every time you stop the engine. It is released automatically as soon as you press the accelerator with the transmission in the DRIVE or REVERSE mode. You can also release it manually by pressing the control downwards.

Rear Collision Warning system works when a vehicle approaches fast from behind, the system calculates that there's a risk of collision. If a collision cannot be avoided, the system tensions the safety belts just before the impact to help keep all occupants safely restrained. To help reduce the strain on the occupants at the impact the system also activates full auto­-braking if your car is at standstill.

Our passenger compartment is reinforced with a great amount of one of the strongest steel types available – boron steel.
-In a collision, this steel helps to dissipate the energy of the crash to reduce the impact on those inside the car.

With Road Sign Information you don't have to miss important road signs. A forward camera detects speed limit, "no overtaking", "no entry" and various types of supplementary signs. The actual sign is then displayed in either the speedometer, the head-up display (if equipped) – or Sensus Navigation in the center console to help keep you constantly alert on current restrictions.

If the system spots a potential run­off scenario or collision, it automatically tightens the front safety belts electrically to help keep you at a safe position. Pre-tensioners activate to tighten safety belts within fractions of a second in the event of a collision. The safety belts at the first and second row's outer positions then release a little to give less strain on the upper body. In a side-collision, the side airbags inflate instantly to help protect the chest and hip. The side airbags are located in the ideal spot on the front seatback.

Our Tire Pressure Monitoring System instantly alerts you on the driver display if a tire is low on pressure, helping to maintain safe handling. The system is active from 18 mph.

A highly advanced material that looks like woven metal. Made by embossing aluminum sheet, lacquering with black paint, diamond cutting to reveal the aluminium and then embossing for a second time.
