Personal safety is at the heart of Volvo’s purpose - providing freedom to move in a safe, sustainable and personal way. With the coronavirus situation developing by the hour, we and our retailer partners are partnering closely to keep you and your family safe through this trying time.

To protect our employees, Volvo Cars’ American offices have transitioned to a near complete remote setup. At the same time, we are taking multiple steps to minimize health risks for the few employees who are still spending limited time at our facilities.

Across the country, Volvo retailers are operating in line with local government guidelines as it relates to their operations and opening hours. As of today, the U.S. government has determined that the vehicle service and repair industry falls under the definition of essential services. This means that where our retailers can operate safely – and are otherwise able to – their doors remain open.

To support them and help ensure they provide a safe environment and experience for you and their team we have provided guidelines based on advice from health professionals that can help limit exposure to the virus. These guidelines relate to both our facilities and cars.


Before heading to your local retailer, please contact them to confirm their opening hours (which may be modified) or alternative means of service.

Available to support you

Our Customer Care and Retailer Support teams continue to function normally. We have strong contingency plans in place, and robust technology that will allow us to run our operations remotely if necessary. Parts and vehicle supply are not impacted at this time and our Roadside Assistance remains fully operational.
