Location is essential

The battery placement gives the XC90 Twin Engine a low and central centre of gravity, making it easier to handle and safer to drive.

dual innovation

Plug and play

The Twin Engine creates the power you might expect of a V8, but with just four cylinders and an electric motor. The result is about 300kW with fuel consumption and CO2 emissions far lower than most cars like it.

CHARGING CABLE & EXTENSION

Do not attempt to cut the two pin ("Schuko" type) plug off the charging unit as the plug provided is equipped with a temperature sensor which will prevent any charge from flowing to the vehicle if communication cannot be established with the temperature sensor.

Any Schuko adaptor used in conjunction with the Volvo charge unit must be equipped with an earth connection as the Volvo unit will prevent any charge from flowing to the vehicle if no connection with the building's earth connection can be safely confirmed. The charge unit should preferably be connected directly into a permanent wall socket (Schuko type with an earth connection) but in emergencies/temporary situations a short Schuko extension cord equipped with an earth connection can be used.

Any permanent wall socket (Schuko type with an earth connection) should be equipped with a circuit breaker of a valve no less than 15 Ampere. As extended 6 metre Schuko type Volvo charge cable unit suitable for home charging use can be purchased at your local Volvo dealer.
