Managing your wallbox with the Volvo Cars app

You can manage your wallbox and wallbox charging sessions via the Volvo Cars app. With the different features available in the app, you can for example remotely start and stop charging, stay informed about your wallbox's status, manage access and see a record of your charging sessions.

 Note

If you have an EX30, you won't be able to pair the Volvo EX30 app with the wallbox. Instead, you'll have to download the Volvo Cars app. This also applies to non-Volvo owners.

You need to have paired the Volvo Cars app with your wallbox to access the features in the app.

Pairing or unpairing the Volvo Cars app with your wallbox

Only one person can have the Volvo Cars app paired with the wallbox at a time. This means that you need to unpair the app if someone else wants to pair their app to the wallbox.

 Note

The Volvo ID account you created to log into the Volvo Cars app is personal to you and should not be shared with others. For this reason, each person who wants access to the wallbox features needs to create their own Volvo ID account before pairing their app with the wallbox.

For instructions on how to pair or unpair the app with you wallbox, see:

Setting the charging speed/amperage limit

Enable or disable Allow anyone to charge.
If you disable Allow anyone to charge you'll need to approve each charging session from your app. You'll receive a push notification to approve the charging session.

Setting up an RFID tag

The simplest way to allow other users to charge with your wallbox is through setting up a Radio frequency ID (RFID) tag. For more information on how to do this, see: Connecting an RFID tag to your wallbox.
