Heating or cooling your battery to an optimal temperature ensures that the battery can accept higher charging power and helps to shorten charging times.

Tip
To help take better care of your car:
- In cold conditions, park your car in a garage overnight.
- In warm conditions, park your car in the shade, a garage or out of direct sunlight.
Preconditioning
Preconditioning starts automatically when:
You select a fast-charging station in the navigation system in the car's centre display.
Before reaching a charging station
Enter or select a charging station in the navigation system in the centre display.
The car will automatically start preconditioning the battery before arrival at the station.
