Today, Volvo Car Thailand unveiled its first Volvo Downtown Store, a place to showcase Volvo’s urban lifestyle concepts for today’s millennial consumers and provides a differentiated brand experience beyond sales. Located on the 2rd floor of EMSPHERE, Bangkok’s latest Luxury & Lifestyle Retail and Entertainment complex in the heart of Sukhumvit, the Volvo Downtown Store Bangkok is now open to all visitors to experience Volvo’s Scandinavian brand elements and design heritage.

At a size of 277 square meters, the Volvo Downtown Store Bangkok integrates a mix of natural Scandinavian and Thai elements into its design and layout; visitors are welcomed by large Java Plum trees, ferns and nature-inspired lighting to give the space the feel of greenery in the middle of the city. An open-plan area with clean, simple lines reflects a typical Scandinavian living room of minimalism and functionality without sacrificing beauty. Furniture in customer lounges, meeting room and café are carefully chosen to create a warm, relaxing atmosphere. An Ashwood interior finishes add a touch of intimacy, luxury, and comfort to the whole space. To make sure the space is as sustainable as possible, all materials used are eco-friendly, whilst customer documents have been digitised to lessen environmental impact.

Inside, Volvo Downtown Store Bangkok features different functional areas including the Scandinavian lounge where customers can sit back and indulge in a Swedish nature inspired decoration, our unique art area where we celebrate diversity and support local artisan communities with handcrafted treasures created by artisans, representing a tapestry of cultures from various small communities and tribes in the northern of Thailand and a storytelling heritage wall displaying miniature model Volvo cars from history throughout the years. The store also features a café that serves snacks and refreshments over a wooden counter to customers.

Developed with modern, urban professionals, and millennials in mind, the car display area not only features the latest model of Volvo cars, but also digital car information stands for customers to explore the car display by themselves or speak to a sales consultant in a co-working area or a comfortable meeting room. Customers can also touch and feel the quality of interior upholstery trims and exterior paint colours from a trim and upholstery wall to support their decision should they wish to purchase a Volvo car.

Chris Wailes, Managing Director, Volvo Car Thailand said,

“Volvo Downtown Store Bangkok goes beyond being a car display space. It is a place where we can be closer to our customers and where our customers can truly experience our brand through different decorative and design elements that represent who we are, from our contemporary Scandinavian and nature-inspired design, to our focus on comfort, innovation and sustainability. It is also an important component of our ongoing commercial transformation as we expand our customer touchpoints. Volvo is committed to continuous customer experience improvement, and the Volvo Downtown Store will allow us to provide a direct, meaningful, and in-person experience to our ever-growing customers base. Every day, we are taking steps towards delivering a premium Volvo consumer experience by providing easy, personalised and standout services for our customers.”

The opening of Volvo Downtown Store Bangkok has pushed the total number of Volvo Studio in APAC to six, together with Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul and Taipei. Volvo Downtown Store Bangkok gives Volvo the opportunity to expand and diversify its consumer touchpoints while promoting its unique brand and heritage in a more visible and experiential way in central, urban shopping complex like the EMSPHERE.
