Choose from two powertrains for the XC40 mild hybrid. Both deliver a smooth and efficient driving experience.

B3 mild hybrid
This powertrain combines a turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with front-wheel drive and a quick-shifting 7-speed Dual Clutch automatic gearbox. It’s engineered for fuel efficiency and smooth power across all revs.

Mild hybrid technology helps save fuel by recovering energy during braking and using a 48-volt battery for clean acceleration from standstill.

B4 mild hybrid
The same turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine but with an 8-speed Geartronic automatic gearbox. It delivers dynamic performance and efficient fuel consumption. This engine maximises power and efficiency using low-friction technology and an advanced turbo. The turbo provides an excellent response at low to medium engine speeds.

Like the B3 mild hybrid powertrain, this option includes mild hybrid technology and a start/stop function for smooth driving and improved efficiency.
