Activating your wallbox account

After your Volvo wallbox has been mounted by an electrician, they need to activate your wallbox.

You should have received an activation letter that includes all the details needed for the electrician to perform this step. If you've lost the letter, contact Volvo support.

Important

It's important that the certified electrician activates your wallbox and configures your wallbox. If for some reason an electrician mounted the wallbox without completing these steps, you will need to do this yourself. Contact Volvo support if you need assistance.

For your wallbox to function as it should it needs to be connected to the internet.

Opening the wallbox web app

To log in to your wallbox, you first need to open the wallbox web app. Make sure your wallbox is on.

  1. Open your device's camera and scan the QR code on the access letter.
A link will be displayed on your device's camera.
  2. Press the link to connect to the wallbox network.
  3. Press Join.
Your device is now connected to the wallbox.
  4. Open a browser on your device and enter the wallbox's hostname as mentioned on the access letter, in the format https://hostname.local. If the wallbox's hostname isn't recognised, enter the default IP instead of the hostname: 10.0.2.1.
You will be warned that the connection is not private. This is only a browser limitation and is nothing to worry about.
  5. Press on the hostname or press enter.
  6. Press Show detailsVisit the websiteVisit website. If you're using a laptop, you also need to press AdvancedAccept the Risk and Continue[1].

You have now successfully activated and set up your wallbox. Press Go to overview to see your wallbox account page.

You can read a separate article on how to configure your wallbox or change any settings you applied during activation.
