Volvo Cars warrants that all parts installed at an authorised Volvo workshop will be free from defects in material or workmanship. The coverage includes the labour to replace the covered replacement part. The warranty does not cover accessories, wear & tear parts or consumables. Terms apply.

What happens if the car is sold within the family?
When the car changes registered owner the extended warranty ends, even if the transfer is within the family.
Why not Lifetime Warranty on parts supplied from factory?
Parts on new cars from factory are covered under the New Car Warranty.
Why not Lifetime Warranty on parts bought earlier?
Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty applies only to parts bought after the program start date.
I don't have a receipt. Can I still claim Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty?
No. Without receipt (or other valid documentation about the purchase such as an invoice), the warranty can't be claimed. Contact your Volvo authorized workshop to find out if it is possible to obtain a copy of an old receipt.
My part breaks down in another country than it was bought in. What happens?
If you bought your part in a market with Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty you will get help at a Volvo authorized workshop in the participating countries where the part breaks down.
Is there a maximum number of times the same part can be replaced within Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty?
No.
Do I get Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty if I buy a Volvo genuine spare part and install it myself or at a workshop outside the Volvo network.
No, the warranty only applies when the part is bought and installed at an authorized Volvo workshop.
Does the warranty apply if a Volvo genuine part has been bought and installed at a wholesale dealer/stockist?
No, the warranty only applies when the part is bought and installed at an authorized Volvo workshop.
Is Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty valid for Remanufactured parts?
Yes, the warranty is valid also for remanufactured Volvo Genuine parts that were sold and installed through the Volvo authorized workshops.
Which parts are included and not included in the offer Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty?
All Volvo Genuine Parts are included except wholesale, over-the-counter, consumables, batteries, accessories, wear & tear which are not eligible for Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty. For full scope, please contact our authorized dealers.
What if a failing part causes failure on other parts, will these parts also be covered?
Yes, parts that fail due to a defect in another part (that is eligible for Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty) will also be replaced free of charge.
Are shock absorbers wear and tear parts?
Yes. However, damage due to wear and tear is not covered by the Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty.
What if there are multiple users of the vehicle during the ownership of one single owner?
For Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty to be valid the owner of the vehicle must remain the same from the time the part was changed. Multiple users will not affect the validity if the owner stays the same.
If a part is changed during new car warranty, any form of extended warranty or other warranty will Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty apply?
No, Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty is only applicable when the customer pays for the part in full. It does not cover parts supplied under a warranty.
Will Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty be valid if the part was paid by an insurance company?
Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty will be possible to claim if the customer can show a detailed original invoice of the work done at a Volvo authorized workshop where part numbers are stated and prove that they were the owner of the vehicle at the time of part installation.
Is labor cost included?
Yes, Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty covers both part and labor cost.
Will there be a cost increase on parts due to the introduction of Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty?
No, this is just an extended offer to our customers.
What if the owner is a company, e.g. a taxi or leasing?
Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty will be applicable also for these customers as long as there is proof of ownership (by company). However, note that it still needs to be possible to prove that a possible failure is material or manufacturing related.
Is there any requirement for vehicles that have not visited Volvo authorized workshop for a period of time after the expiry of new car warranty/extended warranty?
Vehicles that have not visited the Volvo authorized workshop for more than 2 years (after expiry of warranty) will need to undergo the Volvo Health Check at the owners cost to ensure that the vehicle is in good condition and not been modified or tampered in any way. The validity of Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty program is subject to the vehicle being subsequently serviced and maintained at Volvo authorized service network regularly.
Are Hybrid and High Voltage Batteries including its cell modules covered under Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty if the customer pays for it?
No, but it will be covered by a 4 year or 80,000km warranty from the date of purchase. Previously this was a 12-months warranty period (no km-limitation) from the date of purchase.
