Volvo Cars warrants that all parts installed at an authorised Volvo workshop will be free from defects in material or workmanship. The coverage includes the labour to replace the covered replacement part. The warranty does not cover accessories, wear & tear parts or consumables. Terms apply.

When the car changes registered owner the warranty ends, even if the transfer is within the family.

Why not extended warranty on parts from factory?

Parts on new cars from factory follow New Car Warranty.

Why not extended warranty on parts bought earlier?

Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty applies only to parts bought after the introduction of the concept on 1st December 2023.

I don’t have a receipt. Can I still claim Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty?

No. Without receipt (or other valid documentation about the purchase such as an invoice), the warranty can’t be claimed. Contact your Volvo authorised workshop to find out if it is possible to obtain a copy of an old receipt.

My part breaks down in another country than it was bought in. What happens?

If you bought your part in a market with Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty you will get help at a Volvo authorised workshop in the country where the part breaks down.

Is there a maximum number of times the same part can be replaced within Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty?

No.

Do I get Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty if I buy a Volvo genuine spare part and install it myself or at a workshop outside the Volvo network.

No, the warranty only applies when the part is bought and installed at an authorised Volvo workshop.

Does the warranty apply if a Volvo genuine part has been bought and installed at a wholesale dealer?

Is Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty valid for Remanufactured parts?

Yes, the warranty is valid also for remanufactured Volvo Genuine parts that were sold and installed through the Volvo authorised workshops.

Which parts are included and not included in the offer Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty?

Parts like gearbox, AC compressor and steering gears are included while wear and tear parts such as brake pads and wiper blades are not included and therefore not eligible for Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty.

What if a failing part causes failure on other parts, will these parts also be covered?

Yes, parts that fail due to a defect in another part (that is eligible for Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty) will also be replaced free of charge.

Are shock absorbers wear and tear parts?

Yes. Damage due to wear and tear is not covered by the Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty.

What if there are multiple users of the vehicle during the ownership of one single owner?

For Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty to be valid the owner of the vehicle must remain the same from the time the part was changed. Multiple users will not affect the validity if the owner stays the same.

If a part is changed during new car warranty, any form of extended warranty or other warranty will Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty apply?

No, Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty is only applicable when the customer pays for the part.

Will Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty be valid if a part is only paid partially by the customer? E.g. the other part of the cost is paid by insurance or good will.

Yes, parts that are partially paid for by the customer is eligible to Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty.

Will Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty be valid if the part was paid by an insurance company?

Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty will be possible to claim if the customer can; show a detailed original invoice of the work done at a Volvo authorised workshop where part numbers are stated and prove that they were the owner of the vehicle at the time of part installation.

Is labor cost included?

Yes, Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty covers both part and labor cost.

Will there be a cost increase on parts due to the introduction of Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty?

No, this is just an extended offer to the customer at no additional cost.

Does the customer need to perform the scheduled maintenance/service in a Volvo Authorised workshop for Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty to remain valid?

No, the customer is not required to perform the scheduled maintenance / servicing at a Volvo authorised workshop for the Extended Warranty to remain valid. However, all repairs covered under the Extended Warranty must be carried out at a Volvo authorised workshop.

In addition, customer must proof that the vehicle is serviced and maintained according to Volvos recommendation if the vehicle did not return to authorised workshop for such services.

What would happen if the replacement part is no longer produced by Volvo?

Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty is subject to Volvo Cars continuing to stock the part. This can vary between parts and markets. When the part is no longer available, Volvo Genuine Parts Extended Warranty will no longer be valid.
