hCharging times will vary and are dependent on factors such as outdoor temperature, current battery temperature, charging equipment, battery condition and car condition.

Make the most of your car’s battery life by charging up to 90 per cent capacity and maintaining a charge of no less than 20 per cent for typical daily driving.

Charging the car’s battery to 100% lets you utilise every mile of your plug-in hybrid’s electric range. With a combustion engine as backup, a low charge is nothing to worry about.

What else do you want to know about charging?
Which kind of battery is used in plug-in hybrid cars?
Plug-in hybrid cars use a lithium-ion battery, similar to, but smaller than, those used in pure electric cars.
What is the range in pure electric mode of a plug-in hybrid car?
Depending on the model, a Volvo plug-in hybrid can manage your daily driving in pure electric mode with zero tailpipe emissions. If you can coordinate charging opportunities at work or other destinations, you can likely make most of your shorter trips entirely electric.
What kind of charging cables can I use for plug-in hybrid cars?
Our plug-in hybrids come with a charging cable which you can use to connect to household power for lightweight charging duty. The car can also be connected to the charging cables present at AC charging points and charging stations. For AC charging points without charging cables, you can complement with a separate cable for that purpose.
