The Volvo S90

LED headlights with a distinctive T-shape give the S90 a strong identity, and give you clear vision at night. LED Illumination headlights prevent you dazzling other road users by automatically switching between dipped and full beam. Range-topping Full-LED Active High Beam Illumination technology adapts the light pattern on full beam to give you the best light coverage. It also includes Active Bending Lights that turn in the same direction as the steering wheel (up to 30˚ in either direction), to give a better view through corners.

Every seat in the S90 is designed for maximum comfort. Standard Comfort seats provide exceptional support, and optional powered adjustment includes side bolsters and extending seat cushions. Passengers in the rear get the same levels of comfort, with optional heating and plenty of legroom, thanks to the front seats’ slender form.

Intuitive technology runs deeper than the centre display with touch screen – and this easier interaction with the car’s main controls and infotainment makes every journey a pleasurable experience. As well as the clear digital driver display, the head-up display projects information onto the windscreen in front of the driver so there’s no need to take your eyes off the road. Voice control allows you to operate climate control, navigation, media and phone using natural speech and without the need to use set phrases or commands. 

Every seat hears the best possible sound, courtesy of 14 individually monitored and adjusted speakers. With Automatic Level Adjustment, differences in volume and intensity on the recording are evened out, so you don’t have to constantly change the settings. And the bass notes in your music are adapted to the car’s acoustics, making them richer and clearer.

With three driving modes to suit every journey, your S90 T8 Twin Engine is like having three cars in one. In Pure mode, electric-only power allows you to travel far enough on battery power alone for most daily commutes, providing zero-emissions travel in near-silent luxury. Switch to Power mode and the turbocharged, supercharged petrol engine and powerful electric motor combine to give you powerful acceleration. Hybrid – the default mode – uses the petrol engine, electric motor or a combination of them, for smooth and efficient driving. 

Park Assist Pilot makes parking effortless, every time. As you drive by potential spaces, the system assesses the size of them and alerts you to any that your car will fit into. All you need to do is follow the car’s instructions with the accelerator, gears and brakes, and your S90 will do the rest, steering you into a parallel space just 1.2 times the length of the car.

Accidents where a vehicle leaves the road are one of the most common types. Volvo Cars’ Run-off road Mitigation helps make these less likely to happen by detecting if the car is about to leave the road unintentionally between speeds of 65-140km/h. It can then use steering and braking to guide the car back onto the right path. In the event of a car leaving the road, Run-off Road Protection – another Volvo Cars innovation – reduces the chances of serious injury. The front seat frame absorbs the impact of a hard landing on the body, while optional variants of Volvo Cars safety belts automatically tighten.
