The new Volvo S60

Distinctive details enhance the powerful character of the S60 and identify it as one of the new generation of Volvo cars. The prominent front grille wears its Volvo emblem proudly, while the long bonnet and deep front bumper express power. Full LED headlights with Volvo Cars’ unique T-shaped light signature create an unmistakable presence, day or night. At the rear, the boot edge kicks upwards for a sportier attitude and better aerodynamics at speed.

The S60 has drive modes that allow you to tailor your driving experience. By selecting Dynamic, Comfort or Eco, you can change the responsiveness of the engine, automatic gearbox, steering, brakes and stability control system. Or you can create your own combination with Individual mode. On plug-in hybrid models an AWD mode is also available.

The S60 is tailored for a spirited drive. The sleek centre touch screen is your intuitive command centre, while unique air vents have slender, metal-finished controls with diamond-pattern finishes. The same finish is used for the starter knob, driving mode controller and steering wheel controls. R-Design trim highlights the athletic nature of the car, with Metal Mesh Aluminium décor panels and contrast stitching for the seats, tunnel console, doors and gearshift gaiter. Inscription trim includes decor panels in Driftwood, a unique wood treatment.

The panoramic roof available for the S60 bathes the interior in natural light. It’s large enough that those in both the front and rear seats can benefit from it, while special tinted glass reduces unwanted heat and UV radiation. It features a power-operated sunshade that makes it easy to keep strong light out if necessary, while the front part of the roof can be tilted or opened to provide extra ventilation.

A centre display with touch screen is the effortless way to connect with your S60. It has a portrait format that makes reading information easy and reduces scrolling, while the 9-inch screen has a special non-reflective coating and is so responsive you can use it wearing gloves.

An optional head-up display projects information onto the windscreen, reducing the need to take your eyes off the road. There’s also a voice control function that recognises natural speech, allowing you to operate climate control, navigation, media and phone just by talking to it.

The innovative engines available for the S60 balance strong performance with low emissions and fuel consumption, so you can enjoy the feeling of power, responsibly. Each is a four-cylinder engine that is turbocharged for maximum responsiveness. The T6 engine also uses a supercharger, for even stronger low-rev responses. Power is sent through smooth-shifting transmissions – an 8-speed Geartronic automatic with steering wheel-mounted paddles on the R-Design variants, or a six-speed manual gearbox.

Smart technology and seamless smartphone integration lets you effortlessly enjoy your favourite music and podcasts in the S60. Support for Apple CarPlay allows you to link an Apple iPhone, while Android Auto is also supported. An integrated Spotify app is standard, while the Sensus Connect package gives you access to a range of additional apps.

The 360˚ Camera available for the S60 makes parking easier by showing a birdís-eye view of your car and its immediate surroundings on the large centre display screen. It allows you to see objects or vehicles that may be hard to spot using only the windows and mirrors and is especially useful when negotiating tight spaces.

Cross Traffic Alert helps you reverse out of a parking space with increased awareness of potential road users directly behind you. Radar units in the carís rear bumper scan to the left and right of the carís rear for approaching vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians and warn you of their presence.

City Safety is a Volvo Cars innovation that helps to protect people inside and outside the S60 by spotting potential danger and helping you avoid it. Radar and camera technology identifies other vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians and large animals ahead, day or night. City Safety warns you if it detects an imminent collision and, if you don’t react in time, it can automatically apply the brakes to help avoid or mitigate a collision. In the S60, City Safety also includes Steering Support, which helps you steer away from danger as effectively and safely as possible.

For an even more purposeful presence, add an exterior styling kit that includes front and rear splitters, front and rear side deflectors, sill mouldings, a rear diffuser and integrated dual split end pipes that create a powerful impression. Optional alloy wheels enhance the car’s spirited character.
