Wagons are similar to hatchback cars, except they are longer and feature larger load compartments. The trunk lid is typically vertical or nearly vertical and it hinges upward from the car’s roof.

What’s the difference between sedans and wagons?

Wagons are a similar body type to sedans, but they are longer, and the load compartment is not separated from the cabin. This makes them more similar to hatchbacks, although wagons typically have larger trunks and upright trunk lids.
