Cruise control
Cruise control allows your vehicle to brake and accelerate to meet your set speed, giving you a more relaxed drive at a constant driving speed.
When driving with cruise control[1] active, you set a driving speed. The vehicle then manages acceleration and braking to meet that set speed.
When using cruise control, you are still responsible for maintaining focus and driving safely. The speed-keeping features exist to support you, but the responsibility for safe driving practice still lies with the driver.
Important
Driving conditions
Assessing cruise control performance requires that you take all driving, traffic, weather or road conditions into consideration. You are responsible for maintaining a speed that is safe for the current road and traffic conditions.
Driver readiness
Using a speed-keeping feature can result in long periods of you not using the pedals. However, you must remain prepared and ready to brake or accelerate manually if necessary. Avoid changing your driving posture in ways that can delay your response time.
Before using cruise control
Take the time to read everything the manual has to say about cruise control before using it.

When cruise control is active, the set speed appears next to the speedometer, and the cruise control symbol is shown in the instrument panel.

Cruise control is a supplement to safe driving practices. It does not reduce or replace the need for the driver to stay attentive and focused on driving safely. Drive the vehicle with the same attention to safety as you would need in a vehicle without the cruise control feature.Warning
Important
Vehicle faults
Certain vehicle faults can affect the availability of driver support features. Check the vehicle status view for any indicated issues if cruise control is unavailable.
Vehicle alterations
Modifications, repairs and accessory installations can negatively affect or limit driver support features. There is a separate manual section with detailed information on this topic.
