Saving a new reference value for tire pressure monitoring

The tire pressure monitoring system needs a reference value to work from. This means that the value needs to be reset in certain circumstances for the system to work properly.

A new reference value needs to be stored when certain changes have been made, such as every time you change to wheels that require a different recommended tire pressure. The reference value may also need to be updated when there is a significant change in the vehicle's weight due to loading or unloading.

To save a new reference value, the vehicle needs to be turned on and stationary.

Inflate the tires to the correct tire pressure.1
Press the vehicle symbol in the bottom bar and go to StatusTire pressure.
Select Update reference pressure.

 Note

The Update reference pressure button is used to store a new reference value for the tire pressure monitoring system. For safety reasons, you can only make updates when the vehicle is turned on and stationary.
Confirm that you want to store a new value. The confirmation step helps prevent changing the new reference value by mistake.
This overwrites the previous tire pressure and enters a new reference value.
Start driving the vehicle. The new value will be stored after driving for several minutes at a speed above 35 km/h (22 mph).
  • Once a new reference value is saved, the animation showing the saving progress disappears from the center display.
  • If storing fails, a notification is shown in the center display's vehicle status view.
  1. 1Check the tire pressure label on the driver's side door pillar for information on the recommended tire pressure for your vehicle.
