Starting and stopping charging
You can charge your vehicle using AC[1] charging.
AC charging is the recommended charging mode, as it maintains the condition of the battery over time. This is the type of charging you are using when you are charging from a charging station, from a charging point at home or from a regular household outlet. However, using a household outlet is not recommended for regular use and is only suitable for occasional charging.
If you can’t use a charging point at a charging station, it may be because it is equipped for DC[2] charging. Because your vehicle is not compatible with DC charging, use an AC charging point instead. Some charging stations also have a permanently attached charging cable. Always check to make sure it's compatible with your vehicle.Note
Your vehicle makes different sounds depending on the driving conditions and situation. For example, you may hear sounds while battery preconditioning, charging, and driving. This does not necessarily indicate an issue.Note
