Restarting the center display

If the center display's response is slow, it might help to restart the display. A restart may also fix the problem if you are experiencing issues with e.g. Bluetooth, navigation or connectivity.

This article is applicable to models with Google built-in.

To restart the center display, press and hold the Home button below the display for 20 seconds. The screen will first go into cleaning mode. Continue to hold the button until the display turns off and then restarts showing the Volvo logo. The procedure is shown in this video:

This procedure might need to be performed more than once to be effective.

For vehicles without Google built-in there is no option to manually reboot the center display. Pressing the Home button only turns off the screen, but it does not restart the system. The system will reboot itself when necessary and it always reboots during a cold-start after you leave and lock the vehicle.
