Mobile network operators have decided to start phasing out the 2G and 3G networks to support newer, more reliable services.
This is unfortunately not something Volvo Cars can control or delay, but we will help guide you through the steps you need to take if your car is compatible with newer network services.

In many countries, 2G and 3G networks are being phased out. This is also referred to as "the 2G and 3G sunset". The reason for this is that mobile network operators shift towards more advanced technologies. Cars without Google built-in will be impacted by the sunset. Depending on model and model year, your car will either lose all connected services or need a software upgrade to keep working as before.
Software updates for your car are released on a regular basis. Information about the updates are available on the support site, in the car's centre display and in the Volvo Cars/Volvo EX30 app. By updating the software you ensure your car has the latest features and improvements.
Update you car's software to receive new features and improvements without having to visit a workshop. The software update can be downloaded over the air (OTA), when you are connected to the internet. You can choose to start the installation immediately or at a later time.
