We have been associated with CHAS [Children’s Hospice Association Scotland] a charity that is based in Edinburgh but runs two houses for terminally ill children one in Kinross and the other in Balloch for the past 3 years since we supplied each of the houses with cars in 2013. These cars are support cars for the staff and families that make use of the house. It was when delivering the cars that I was shown around Rachel House in Kinross and was amazed at the work and lack of support that this charity had, and having children myself, the fact that these children were terminally ill I wanted to do more. We decided at that point to nominate CHAS as our charity for the group and over the years have raised money through various events and have also dedicated time to help at both the houses with our own staff.
More recently we were proud to be one of the main sponsors at the Rocking Horse Ball where we donated several auction prizes and were proud to help raise around £90,000 on the night. After hearing an emotional story from one of the parents on the night our Operations Director Duncan Cunningham donated a new car to the charity to be used by the staff to help attend meetings and events. Naturally anything to do with children can be emotional and we are delighted to be associated with such a worthwhile and humbling charity and we look forward to working with them in the future.
