COULD YOUR CHILD BE ANY SAFER?
In 2005, 11,000 children under the age of 11 were injured or killed in car accidents.* The proper use of child car restraints could have prevented many of these injuries and deaths.

SAFETY EXPERTS
Here at Volvo, we’ve been focusing on safety for almost 80 years. Back in 1959, we invented the very first three-point safety belt. Since then we’ve introduced pioneering, life-saving safety systems, such as our Side Impact Protection System (SIPS) and our unique Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS). We have even built a dedicated safety centre in which we carry out crash testing on all of our products, not just our cars.
Volvo’s child safety products are some of the safest in the world. We provide a range of restraints to meet the different needs of babies to 12 year olds.
COMPLETE PEACE OF MIND
Volvo's safety range has been designed using information gained from in-depth research. Each product is put through a rigorous development process, including crash testing.
CHOOSING A CHILD SAFETY RESTRAINT
The weight and age of your child determines the type of safety restraint they need. As your child grows, their restraint will need to be changed to ensure they are travelling legally and safely. The table below shows which type of safety restraint is appropriate for your child.

EXTRA SECURITY WITH ISOFIX
Many Volvo child safety restraints feature ISOFIX, the industry standard for mounting restraints in cars. With ISOFIX, restraints simply push into attachment points in the vehicle, reducing the chance of incorrect fitting. Since February 2006, ISOFIX attachment points are fitted as standard in all new Volvos. For older vehicles without ISOFIX, Volvo produces child safety restraints that use the adult safety belt.

ISOFIX BABY AND CHILD SEATS
Volvo Baby and Child Seats fit onto a standard ISOFIX frame. The Baby Seat features a sturdy handle, which enables you to remove it from the vehicle and carry your baby inside. The Child Seat is adjustable so that the child can sit upright or recline for sleeping.
Important: the airbag must be de-activated before fitting a child safety restraint in the front passenger seat.
BOOSTER SEATS AND CUSHIONS
Booster Seats and Cushions may not be popular with older children but these safety products will ensure that they are sitting in the correct position to gain maximum protection from the adult seat belt. The elevated seating position also means the child enjoys a better view.
CHILD RESTRAINTS WITHOUT ISOFIX
A range of child restraints for use in older vehicles that have not been fitted with ISOFIX. Designed for use with the adult seat belt.
CHILD ACTIVITY BAG
The multi-purpose Activity Bag is perfect for storing toys and other small items. It can be attached to the back of the front seat, within easy reach of little hands.
INTERIOR CHILD MIRROR
Use the Mirror when you are driving, to watch over your children travelling in the back seats.
