From January 2012 the Motability scheme has a number of policy changes:
Car choice: customers will only be offered vehicles with an OTR value up to£25,000,
Advance payments: All vehicles will have a maximum Advance Payment of £2000.00. ( exceptions to wheelchair accessible vehicles)
Young drivers: under 25's will be restricted to vehicles at ABI Ins Group 16 or below, power output of 115bhp.
Nominated drivers: under 21yrs must live at the same address as the disabled person. All other nominated drivers must live within 5 miles of the Motability customer's home.
To be eligible for the Motability schemes, you must be in receipt of either the Higher Rate Mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance or the War Pensioner's Mobility Supplement.
