The PIN code is used in the Volvo Cars app to verify that a person is authorized to use connected services in a particular vehicle.
No PIN code is used for vehicles with Google built in.
New PIN
The four-digit PIN code is automatically generated by Volvo Support or by an authorized Volvo retailer and sent to the vehicle owner.1 The PIN code verifies that the user is authorized.
Use PIN
The PIN is required for security reasons for the following services:
If you have forgotten or want to change your PIN code
If you have forgotten or need to change your PIN code (for example, if you have purchased a previously owned vehicle), contact3
- a retailer or
- Volvo Support via the ON CALL button or by phone.
The new code is sent to the car owner.
If an incorrect PIN code has been entered in the Volvo Cars app multiple times
If an incorrect PIN code has been entered incorrectly 10 times in a row, the account will be locked. To use the app again, a new PIN code must be selected and a new app account created following the same process used to create the previous app account.
