An V60 Plug-in Hybrid is driven and operated in the same way as a car with a conventional internal combustion engine and automatic gearbox.

The exception is that with the gear selector in manual gear position (+/-) the diesel engine will always be running. The driver must then change manually and the car engine brakes when the accelerator pedal is released, see .
