Steering lock

The steering lock makes steering difficult if the car is e.g. taken unlawfully. A mechanical noise may be noticed when the steering lock unlocks or locks.

Function

  • The steering lock is activated when the driver's door is opened after the engine has been switched off.
  • The steering lock is deactivated when the remote control key is in the ignition switch1 and the START/STOP ENGINE button is depressed.
  1. 1In cars with keyless start and lock system it is enough to have a remote control key inside the passenger compartment.
