How to get there?
Fully electric by 2030
Today, all our cars have an electrified version. By 2030 every new Volvo car will be pure electric – no combustion engines, not even hybrid engines. We’re all in.

But electrification is not enough
We need to reduce all our direct and indirect emissions. So we’re revamping our manufacturing, supply chain and operations. Plus we’re continually increasing our recycling and the re-use of materials.

Third-party approval for our climate plan
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)* has approved our ambitious plan to become a climate-neutral company by 2040. According to SBTi, our emissions reduction targets are in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to well below 2°C compared to pre-industrial levels.
We’re committed to reducing our impact on the planet and we know it’ll take a global effort. So it’s important to collaborate with other like-minded companies and organisations to drive our own sustainability performance and industry change.
