We have an exciting opportunity for a Parts Apprentice to join the team at Volvo Cars Reading.
Apprenticeships are an exciting and challenging opportunity to receive formal training and gain recognised qualifications whilst in full-time employment. You learn on the job from experienced colleagues to gain job-specific skills. Volvo apprentices also attend the Volvo Car UK Training & Development Centre to work towards a nationally recognised professional qualification in their chosen career path.
What is my role as an apprentice?
As a Volvo apprentice Parts Advisor, you will learn to consult, advise and sell vehicle parts, components and accessories to customers. You will also learn how to take orders and source parts, control and organise the storage of large amounts of stock, locate parts and components, and order fresh stock when required.
What qualities do I need?
Even though a Volvo apprentice Parts Advisor does not work directly on vehicles, good technical knowledge is essential as you must be able to recognise different parts and components and understand their function. This is a role that also requires first-class organisational and planning skills as well as a systematic approach to completing tasks.
You must be familiar with, and comfortable using, the latest technology and have excellent communication skills for dealing with customers and your colleagues.
Where can a Volvo Cars apprenticeship lead me?
After you have completed your apprenticeship, you will discover plenty of opportunities to develop your career. You could move into supervision or management. At Volvo Cars, there are lots of exciting opportunities. All you need is the dedication and drive to take them.
