Warning and indicator symbols in your car

Understanding the warning and indicator symbols that can appear in your car.

Symbol types and colours

Warning symbols shown in your car's displays come in different colours to indicate the level of urgency:

  • Red warning symbols indicate severe problems requiring immediate attention. These warnings could affect your car's safety or drivability. Examples include engine temperature, brake system, and airbag warnings.
  • Yellow or amber symbols suggest issues that need prompt attention and shouldn't be ignored. Examples include check engine light and ABS warnings.

  • Green, blue or white symbols are informational and don't indicate problems. They show when features like turn signals or high beams are active.

Warning symbols will normally be accompanied by notifications in your driver display with more information. You can also check the Car status view in your centre display for additional details.

 Important

Do not ignore red warning symbols. They indicate serious issues that could affect your safety or cause damage to your car.
