Ending your car finance contract

For information about ending your contract early, what happens at the end of your contract term and how mileage restrictions can affect your contract.

Ending your contract early

To cancel your contract before the end of the agreed term you'll need to contact Volvo Car Financial Services UK directly. Visit vcfsuk.co.uk/volvo/frequently-asked-questions for more information.

What happens at the end of your contract term

Depending on your finance option there may be a few things to consider at the end of your contract term:

Volvo Loan

At the end of your Volvo Loan contract period, you will have paid off the car and will own it outright. Cars financed via Volvo Loan do not have any mileage limits to consider.

Personal Contract Purchase

When your Personal Contract Purchase reaches the end of the agreed upon term, you have three options:
  • Pay the optional final payment and take full ownership of the car.
  • Part exchange your car for a new car and contract.
  • Return the car with no additional cost provided that you've followed the agreed mileage and terms of use.

Visit vcfsuk.co.uk/volvo/end-of-agreement-options for more information.

Personal Contract Purchase mileage restrictions

You'll choose your yearly mileage allowance as part of the application process for your Personal Contract Purchase. This can be anywhere from 6,000 to 30,000 miles annually, capped at 100,000 miles across the entire contract period. If you drive more than your agreed total by the end of the contract, you'll need to pay an excess charge for each additional mile. You won't get money back for any unused mileage.
