Using your Volvo-financed car

There are some things to consider when using your Volvo-financed car. For example when sharing your car, taking it abroad or travelling with pets.

Sharing your car

You can share your car with other drivers, as long as they're named on a the insurance policy. Remember that you're responsible for ensuring all drivers comply with the terms of your agreement. Learner drivers with a valid provisional licence can use the car for non-commercial driving practice.

Transporting pets in your car

You can transport pets in your car, but you'll be responsible for any damage they might cause, such as tears in the upholstery. You can purchase a pet package with protective accessories for selected models for safer pet transport.

Driving abroad

You can make short trips within Western Europe without special permissions. You'll need to get written approval from Volvo Car Financial Services UK for journeys longer than a month, destinations outside Western Europe, or if you want to permanently move the car to another country.

 Important

If you're taking your car abroad, make sure your insurance includes foreign cover. You are always responsible for making sure that your car is covered by comprehensive insurance.
