Creating a Volvo ID

You need a Volvo ID to log in to the Volvo Cars app. The instructions for how to create your Volvo ID vary depending on car model and model year, so be sure to read the section that applies to your car.

Cars with Google built-in

From the Volvo Cars app

Make sure that you have the latest version of the Volvo Cars app.
Select Create Volvo ID.
Enter a phone number1 or an e-mail address to which you have access.
Activate your account by following the instructions that are automatically sent to you.

From the Volvo website

Go to volvoid.eu.volvocars.com/Account.
Select Create your Volvo ID.
Enter a phone number1 or an e-mail address to which you have access.
Activate your account by following the instructions that are automatically sent to you.

 Note

If you share a car with other people, it is recommended that every user creates their own Volvo ID since they are personal.

A Volvo ID can be linked to up to ten cars, and each car can have up to ten Volvo IDs linked to them.

S60, S60 Recharge, model year 2023 and later

Cars with the earlier infotainment system (Sensus)

From the in-car app Volvo ID

Go to the Volvo ID in the car's centre display. If it is not available in the app view, you need to download it from Download Centre.
Register a phone number1 or an e-mail address to which you have access.
Activate your account by following the instructions that are automatically sent to you.

From the Volvo Cars app

Make sure that you have the latest version of the Volvo Cars app.
Select Create Volvo ID.
Enter a phone number1 or an e-mail address to which you have access.
Activate your account by following the instructions that are automatically sent to you.

When creating a Volvo ID via the Volvo Cars app, you also need to register your Volvo ID in the car in order to gain access to connected services.

From the Volvo website

Go to volvoid.eu.volvocars.com/Account.
Select Create your Volvo ID.
Enter a phone number1 or an e-mail address to which you have access.
Activate your account by following the instructions that are automatically sent to you.

Registering your Volvo ID to your car

If your Volvo ID was created from the Volvo website or from the Volvo Cars app, you also need to register it to your car.
Go to the Volvo ID in the car's centre display. If it is not available in the app view, you need to download it from Download Centre.
Enter your phone number1 or e-mail address.
Register your account to your car by following the instructions that are automatically sent to you.
