With the Sensus Connect upgrade, available from May 2017, the centre display in your Volvo has been given a new and intuitive appearance. Navigation, the media player and home view have all been updated in order to simplify their use. Settings and buttons that are used frequently have been highlighted, making it easier for the driver to reach them.
News
A few examples of changes made to the centre display are listed below.
Home view
Home view now has a new appearance, and settings have been redesigned to facilitate navigation in views and menus. Some settings have been moved from the top view to the relevant apps or functions.
Buttons and text have been made larger, and app icons have been given new colours to enhance clarity and access. An icon in the form of a globe has been added at the top left-hand corner to indicate whether the car is connected to the Internet.
Settings
The options have been grouped together in settings view in order to provide a better overview, potentially making it easier to find the settings you are looking for.
Driver support
IntelliSafe view now has an updated appearance1.
Navigation
The buttons in navigation view have been moved to a vertical position on the left-hand side so that the driver can reach them more easily and so that you can see more of the map. You can access the settings by expanding the settings view. Functions used frequently have been emphasised so that you can access them more easily. The Enter destination and Cancel route description options have been made more accessible.
Audio and media
The media player and Sound Experience2 app have been reworked. You can easily see what is playing in the Now playing tab. The menu options have been moved to the left-hand side of the screen to facilitate access. You can see the latest audio sources selected here, for example.
Note
Radio
The radio functions in the centre display have been updated so that when you search for radio stations, you can fine-tune your settings manually in order to locate the preferred signal strength.
Reversing camera settings
The reversing camera can help you to keep more of an eye on the area behind your car while you reverse. The reversing camera has always returned to normal view previously, but after the update your last setting will remain active the next time you start the reversing camera.
For example, if you prefer to use the 360-degree view from your reversing camera, you can select that setting directly in camera view mode. This setting will then continue to apply the next time you use the reversing camera. You want to switch to reversing camera view, press the screen to enable the icons and then select the reversing camera. This allows you to switch between the different camera views, depending on the type of situation.
App and software updates
With this update, the download functions have been reworked so that new and possible updates are now clearer.
