Volvo launches EX30 Black Edition with striking new look
13 February 2026 - Volvo has launched the Black Edition variant of its award-winning, all-electric EX30, boasting an eye-catching new look.
- Black Edition adds design enhancements to the popular compact SUV
- Available across single and twin motor variants priced from £40,060
Available for order in the UK now, the Black Edition styling can be seen in several exterior details, including the prominent high gloss black 19-inch wheels and tinted rear windows. The front grille strikethrough, iron mark, rear Volvo script and model name badge are also adorned in high gloss black, alongside the colour coordinated roof spoiler and door mirror covers.
The bold new Black Edition is available with one, elegant exterior colour (Onyx Black) and one unique interior colourway (Indigo). The metallic Onyx Black paint sparkles in daylight while reduced light accentuates its elegance. The sporty interior in deep blue indigo with studio-inspired textile materials and upcycled denim trim is exclusive to the Black Edition.
Priced from £40,060 in Single Motor Plus trim, the Black Edition comes with Volvo’s advanced sensing technology with up to five radars, five cameras and twelve ultra-sonic sensors continuously monitoring the car’s surroundings to help support the driver. Other equipment highlights include adaptive cruise control and a powered tailgate for convenience.
With a range of up to 295.2 miles (combined) and a 0-62 mph in 5.3 seconds in Single Motor Extended range form, the EX30 comes as standard with a heat pump to maximise the distance it can travel between charges.
Inside, the Black Edition comes with Volvo’s air quality measurement and remote cabin air pre-cleaning and a 12.3-inch centre display, as well as a plethora of driver support technology.
Following the introduction of the Black Edition in 2023 on the XC60, the EX30 becomes the latest model to receive the treatment. The Black Edition is now available across six models: XC90, XC60, XC40, EX40, EC40 and EX30.
The EX30 was the UK’s tenth best-selling battery electric vehicle in 2025. Building on its popularity for its range, stylish design and quick charging, the compact SUV with its Black Edition enhancements is expected to further increase its appeal.
The addition of the Black Edition variant adds another level of choice and is available in Single Motor Extended Range and Twin Motor Performance configurations.
“The Black Edition variants of our models have struck a chord with buyers in the past and the EX30 looks really striking with the design additions, giving it even more presence. We are really pleased to offer the Black Edition of our compact premium SUV to customers in the UK,” says Rob Deane, Commercial Operations Director, Volvo Car UK.
The Black Edition will be available on Plus and Ultra trim levels across the Single Motor Extended Range and Twin Motor Performance Powertrains.
