Volvo Car USA reported sales of 34,228 vehicles for the second quarter of the year, up 9 percent year over year, driven by the recovery of sales of XC60 and XC90. Electrified vehicles, defined as vehicles with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain, accounted for 24.1 percent of total U.S. sales in the quarter. Sales of electrified sales declined 17.1 percent compared to the same period last year, as the company continues to balance customer demand for the full range of powertrains across the U.S. market.
