Ballistic certification for peace of mind

The complete car is certified according to American NIJ-IIIA armouring standards in combination with VPAM 2009. This enhanced protection is unique to Europe and helps ensure 360° ballistic protection from different angles and distances including otherwise vulnerable points of the car body. The certification shows the exhaustive quality on the armouring process, and Volvo Cars warranty covers functionality on all car and safety systems.

Protective driving dynamics

To compensate for up to 320 kg extra weight, the armoured XC90 is equipped with a reinforced chassis, more powerful brakes and heavy-duty 20-inch wheels. Combined with all-wheel drive and a powerful engine, this gives you performance and stability for nearly all roads and conditions.
