WRK+ names Volvo one of Australia’s best workplaces
After 59,000 interviews across 127 workplaces, Volvo Car Australia was ranked one of the nation’s best places to work by WRK+. Here’s why.

Volvo Car Australia has been rated one of the country's best places to work by consultancy firm WRK+.
The WRK+ ranking, released in their annual 2022 Best Places to Work report, is based on a series of key measures like employee benefits, learning and development policies, office environment, parental leave and flexible work arrangements, diversity and inclusion.
It was a year of work and a survey of more than 59,000 people across 127 Australian organisations. Volvo Car Australia ranked 16th among companies with fewer than 100 employees - the highest, and only, automotive company in the rankings.
Stephen Connor, Volvo Car Australia’s Managing Director, welcomed the announcement, saying it reinforced the company's ongoing commitment to putting its people at the core of everything it does.
"We are pleased that Volvo's ranking in the 2022 WRK+ study recognises Volvo's ongoing commitment to its staff and their welfare in the workplace, and at home"
"One of the few positives that has emerged from the global pandemic is reminding everyone of what is really important. We have all lived through a period of disconnection, separated from each other by distance or circumstance.
"People everywhere are dividing their time between their jobs and the important people in their lives. It is hard to get the right balance.”
Having the support of your employer can make all the difference, he added.
"Volvo understands this, especially the critical need for our staff to be with the people they love, by creating flexible policies that drive real change,” he said.
"Our two key priorities are focused on understanding people's needs at home, and providing a workplace where they feel safe, supported and appreciated."
As well as being a certified Family Friendly Workplace, Volvo provides a range of support to its staff via its innovative Family Bond policy, reflecting its desire to keep families together.
Under Family Bond, Volvo Car Australia staff can access 24 weeks of paid leave (at 80 per cent of salary) for all parents, including same-sex, surrogate, adoptive and permanent foster parents, as well as paid miscarriage leave, and family and domestic violence leave.
"We are pleased that Volvo's ranking in the 2022 WRK+ study recognises Volvo's ongoing commitment to its staff and their welfare in the workplace, and at home." Connor said.
