Plug and play, don’t pay: Complimentary home charger for Volvo EX30

Nothing beats the convenience of charging at home. Which is why Volvo Car Australia is offering a complementary home charger with new EX30 models sold between now and the year end.*

The package, available through Volvo’s longstanding partnership with Jet Charge, also comes with a little help with charging on the go: 1,000 kms of free charging on the Evie, the largest fast charging public network in Australia.

Which means Volvo drivers are covered, home and away.

Home chargers
While Volvo’s electric vehicles are designed to be able to charge from a standard plug, and come with a wall socket charger to do so, it’s not recommended as a default – it’s slow and household electrical systems may not be designed to accommodate regular EV charging without re-enforcement.

Installing a home charger, like the complementary 7kW single phase unit via Jet Charge, more than doubles the rate of charge – which means the battery can be charged twice as fast. Because it is a dedicated unit installed by a professional electrician, it also reduces the strain on domestic electrical systems.

EX30 customers taking up the complementary charger offer will need to pay to have it installed – and those seeking more advanced smart chargers, or systems that integrate with home solar panels, may find other options more suitable. But Jet Charge has those options covered too.

After all, there’s no place like home when it comes to lower cost, tailpipe emissions-free driving.
