Two good: Best large electric SUV; best large luxury SUV full stop

Volvo Cars’ flagship seven seat EX90 SUV has been recognised as the best car in its class by judges at Wheels. They’ve awarded it both the best large electric SUV in its class, and the best large luxury SUV full stop.

In other words, it’s better in their opinion than any other large electric SUV in Australia, and better than any other large luxury SUV – petrol, diesel or electric.

In the all-electric category, the EX90 held off competition from the likes of BMW, Kia, Hyundai, Lotus and Mercedes-Benz. The judges were suitably impressed.

According to Wheels:

To win the Best Large Luxury SUV title – regardless of drivetrain – EX90 had to outscore an even wider field of rivals, including the likes of Porsche, Lexus, Audi and Landrover as well as BMW, Mercedes, Lexus and Genesis.

The EX90 duly did. Per Wheels judges:

“All in all the EX90 is an impressive package, from its huge interior, lovely driving experience and keen performance, to its above average charging capability and impressive interior finishes.”

The local Wheels awards add to growing international recognition of the EX90’s elegance, comfort, practicality, advanced technology and Scandinavian design.

In April it was awarded the prestigious World Luxury Car title by an expert jury of 96 automotive journalists from across 30 countries.

Since then, the EX90 has got even better, with over the air updates adding elements like smart charging and Curve Speed Assist to anticipate upcoming curves, as well as Abbey Road Studios Mode to deliver a unique listening experience.
