SCOPE AND PURPOSE

This Service Privacy Policy (or “Policy”) describes the privacy practices of Volvo Car México, S.A. de C.V., its affiliates, and authorized third parties (collectively referred to as “Volvo Car México”, “our”, “us”, or “we”) with respect to particular types of processing for Volvo Valet. It supplements and should be read together with our consumer Privacy Policy (hereinafter the “Privacy Policy”).

This Policy sets forth:

  • The identity and residence of the party responsible for personal data processing;
  • The categories of personal data we collect;
  • The purposes for processing your personal data;
  • How we share your personal data;
  • How you may exercise your ARCO rights;
  • How you may limit the use and disclosure of your personal data, and;
  • The method by which we will inform you of any changes to this Service Privacy Policy.

In each case, if and as such practices differ from the practices described in our Privacy Policy, the differences will be disclosed in this Policy; however, except for such differences, the personal data will remain covered by the Privacy Policy, which together with this Policy are part of one and the same single document for Volvo Valet processing purposes.

To provide our customers (or “you”) with all the services related to Volvo Valet and when we have a lawful justification and our customer’s consent, we need to process certain personal data. “Personal data” is defined as any information concerning an identified or identifiable individual.

The purposes for processing are to allow you to schedule test drive and/or a service appointment directly through the Volvo Valet app and have your vehicle picked up from your chosen location with the option to have a loaner delivered or exchange your current leased vehicle for a new leased vehicle (collectively referred to as “the “Volvo Valet service”).

IDENTITY AND RESIDENCE OF THE RESPONSIBLE PARTY

Volvo Car México, S.A. de C.V., domiciled in Juan Salvador Agraz, número 73 Mezzanine, Colonia Santa Fe, Alcaldía Cuajimalpa de Morelos, C.P. 05348, CDMX, Mexico, is the entity responsible for the processing of personal data, together with the authorized Volvo Car retailers where you request the Volvo Valet service (“Volvo retailer” or “retailer”).

PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED AND PROCESSING PURPOSES

The use of the Volvo Valet service involves the processing of the following categories of personal data:

  • Drivers performing the Volvo Valet service as well as customers using the service need to create an account. In this case we will process: first and last name, contact details (E-mail, personal and work phone numbers), and password (hashed). This is done in the course of our provision of the Volvo Valet service to our customers, in order to identify the driver and the customer and ensure communication with them. We also require drivers performing the Volvo Valet service to upload a photo of themselves to ensure that the customer can see the person that will greet them and take over their vehicle.
  • When a driver performs the Volvo Valet service, we track the location of the driver through their smartphone. This is done in order to calculate the estimated time for the service.
  • • When a customer uses the Volvo Valet service, we collect more information about the customer:
    • Customer Pickup & Delivery Service History, in order to know which services have been completed;
    • Customer’s Driver’s License, if the customer uses a loaner vehicle;
    • Customer’s Insurance Card, if the customer uses a loaner vehicle;
    • Customer’s License Plate and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), needed to identify the vehicle;
    • Pickup Address, needed to provide the service;
    • Pickup Notes inserted by the customer (if any);
    • Service Notes inserted by the retailer’s workshop (if any);
    • Vehicle Interested in for Test Drive (if any);
    • Customer Trade-in Vehicle Photos (if any);
    • Dropoff Address, needed to provide the service;
    • Dropoff Notes, inserted by the customer (if any), and;
    • IP Address of your mobile device where the Volvo Valet app is installed.
  • When we send customers push notifications with the status updates of the service through the Volvo Valet app, we use the following categories of data in order to keep track of the notification sent:
    • Unique Device Identifier;
    • Push Notification Token;
    • Push Notification Title, which may contain the names of customers, drivers, vehicle make/model/color;
    • Push Notification Body, which may contain the names of customers, drivers, vehicle make/model/color, and;
    • IP Address of your mobile device where the Volvo Valet app is installed.
  • When feedback is left after the performance of the service, we collect the names of the customer and the driver, the rating and comments given by the customer.
  • The quality of our service is essential and, because liability issues may arise regarding alleged damages to the vehicle, we keep photos of the vehicle, along with timestamps and location, in our interests to defend our (and our partners and drivers involved in the service) rights and interests.
  • When you send us an E-mail with the request for support in using the Volvo Valet app or if you have any other questions in the context of our Volvo Valet offer.
  • When you use the Volvo Valet app, we use Google Analytics to better understand user behavior and improve the usability of the app. We process your IP Address, which is anonymized immediately after its collection.

We will process your personal data only for as long as necessary in order to comply with the purposes described in this Policy, our Privacy Policy and/or in accordance with the applicable legal provisions. We will not use the personal data we collected for materially different or unrelated business purposes without providing you prior notice and receiving your consent.

SHARING OF PERSONAL DATA

As part of the business operations and in order to fulfill the described purposes, Volvo Car México, may share some or all of your personal data with other members of the Volvo Car Group, authorized Volvo Car retailers and third parties supporting the Volvo Valet service. We will ensure, through the signing of contracts and/or the adoption of other binding documents that these third parties keep personal data confidential, not use it for any purpose except performing the contract and in accordance with this Policy and our Privacy Policy, and maintain adequate security, administrative, technical and physical measures to safeguard your personal data.

YOUR ARCO RIGHTS

You or your legal representative may exercise any of the rights of Access, Rectification, Cancellation or Opposition (your “Arco Rights”), as well as revoking your consent for the processing of your personal data by sending an E-mail to protecciondedatos@volvocars.com. Your request must contain and comply with the requirements of the Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares (“LFPDPPP”), and its regulations, as well as the requirements established by the Instituto Nacional de Transparencia, Acceso a la Información y Protección de Datos Personales (INAI; website http://www.inai.org.mx). LIMITATION AND/OR DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

Volvo Cars México limits access to and disclosure of personal data to its employees, authorized Volvo Car retailers, and third parties who need to process your personal data on our behalf to perform the services related to Volvo Valet. You can limit the use or disclosure of your Personal Data by sending your request to the following E-mail: protecciondedatos@volvocars.com.

CHANGES TO THIS SERVICE PRIVACY POLICY

Volvo Cars México will notify you of any changes to this Policy through our website https://www.volvocars.com/mx for which we ask you to review it periodically or the updated version will be sent to you using the E-mail address you provided.
