Volvo Car USA and Canada reports sales of 11,814 cars in April
MAHWAH, NJ (May 6, 2024) – Volvo Car USA and Canada sold 11,814 cars in April, up 12.3 percent over the same period last year. Electrified models — those with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain — accounted for a 32.8 percent share , an increase of 16.9 percent compared with the same period last year.
Sales in the US reached 10,604 in April, up 10.3 percent over the same period last year, mainly driven by an 89 per cent increase of plug-in hybrids. Electrified models represented a 31.4 percent share, an increase of 13.2 percent.
The XC60 compact luxury SUV was the top selling model with 3,261 cars sold during April, followed by the XC90 midsize luxury SUV (3,062 cars) and XC40 small luxury SUV (2,426 cars).
Sales in Canada reached 1,210 cars, up 33.7 percent over the same period last year, with Electrified models representing 44.3 percent of total sales for the month, an increase of 46.8 percent compared with the same period last year and representing a company record.
