Progress in China
Volvo Cars’ continuing journey as a global brand took a giant leap forwards in November 2013, when our Chengdu plant opened in China. The first car to be built at Chengdu is the Volvo S60L, a long wheelbase model aimed specifically at the Chinese market.
Volvo Car Group also opened an engine plant in Zhangjiakou in 2013, and a second car manufacturing plant at Daqing is scheduled to open by the end of 2014. The importance Volvo places on China is also reflected in our R&D centre in Shanghai.
Our plants in China operate in full accordance with Volvo Cars manufacturing standards and procedures – equal to those of our European plants.
Everyone working at, or with, Volvo Cars should be comfortable raising questions or concerns about ethical issues or cases of non-compliance. We support a culture of openness, integrity and accountability. If you want to report a violation of our Code of Conduct, you can submit a report.
