Plug-in hybrid cars use a lithium-ion battery, similar to, but smaller than, those used in fully electric cars.

What is the range in a fully electric mode of a plug-in hybrid car?

Depending on the model, a Volvo plug-in hybrid car can manage most of your daily driving in a fully electric mode with zero tailpipe emissions. If you can coordinate charging opportunities at work or other destinations, you can likely make most of your shorter trips entirely electric. The 2024 S60 Recharge plug-in hybrid can drive up to 41 miles in Pure mode.

What kind of charging cables can I use?

Our plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles come with a charging cable which you can use to connect to common household outlets for lightweight charging duty (Level 1).  These dual-mode cables also include support faster Level 2 charging speeds. While away from home, you can also be connected to the charging cables present at AC charging points and charging stations.
