We’re opening a new 700-job tech hub in Stockholm

Our Stockholm office is growing, and we’re looking for new team members who are skilled in everything from product management to software engineering and user experience.

Our new workplace will be in central Stockholm.

Our new workplace will be in central Stockholm.

We’re always welcoming talented people who want to take part in creating a new future that is all-electric, autonomous and connected – and right now, we’re looking for key talents and established leaders from all over the world to join our new tech hub in Stockholm.

We’re creating a workspace in the centre of Sweden’s capital, where we aim to gather more than 700 talents, physically and virtually, skilled in software engineering, data science and analytics, product management, online business and user experience.

We have a proud history of world-changing innovations, and bold ambitions to match, designed to put us on a path of becoming a leader in the premium electric car market by 2030. Two of our mid-decade ambitions is to sell at least half of all our cars online and to develop at least half of all software in-house.

Beyond making our cars safer through technology and more sustainable through electrification, we want to fundamentally change car ownership to be more personal through a world-leading consumer experience

Our Stockholm tech hub will be characterised by those ambitions and will build on our established competence in online sales and software product development, which are key focus areas in our ongoing transformation. This expansion will not only support our strong, ongoing growth, but is also a strategic move: as the home and birthplace of several globally successful billion-dollar tech companies, Stockholm has an international appeal to the global tech scene.

“Beyond making our cars safer through technology and more sustainable through electrification, we want to fundamentally change car ownership to be more personal through a world-leading consumer experience,” said Henrik Green, chief product officer at Volvo Cars. “That’s why we’re investing in product and tech and expanding in Stockholm to access the wealth of talent in everything from product management to software engineering and user experience.”

The office is an expansion of our current downtown Stockholm location and will serve as the base for our businesses in the wider Stockholm region. The tech hub workspace will be renovated and modernised later this year. Keep an eye on our Career section for more information and updates around available positions.

Anders Kärrberg, head of global sustainability, said: "I'm delighted that our APAC HQ Campus has secured a 100 per cent climate neutral electricity supply. This good news follows the securing of a similar supply for our plants in Chengdu and Daqing.

“Climate action is now as important as safety at Volvo Cars. We are committed to reducing emissions across our value chain on our journey towards becoming a climate neutral company by 2040. Addressing our operational footprint is key. Our global manufacturing plants are already powered by over 90 per cent fossil free electricity. This is further evidence that we are quite literally putting our own house in order," Anders said.
