C40 Recharge specifications

Seating and cargo capacity

With the rear seats up, the load compartment has enough space below the load cover for two suitcases 29.5in long, 20.4in wide and 12.2in high.

Fold down the rear seats for optimal luggage capacity – and with a flat load floor and no lip to lift items over, larger objects are easier to load and unload. A foldable floor acts as a handy divider to hold shopping bags secure as well as enabling hidden, lockable underfloor storage.

Range and charging

Pure electric range

This is an electric vehicle. Since electricity is not measured in gallons, a conversion factor is used to translate the fuel economy into miles per gallon of gasoline equivalent (MPGe). EPA-estimated 92 city/79 highway/ 85 combined MPGe. Use for comparison purposes only. Your MPGe will vary for many reasons, including but not limited to, driving conditions, how and where you drive, how you maintain your vehicle, battery-package/condition, and other factors. See www.fueleconomy.gov

* Anticipated range is according to WLTP and EPA driving cycles and real-world range may vary.

Fast charging

Typical time to charge from 10 to 80 per cent with 150kW DC fast charging (CCS2).

Home charging

Typical time to charge from 10% to 90% with 11kW Level 2 charger.*

Charging ports

The C40 Recharge has a combined charging socket with both AC and DC inlet ports.

Charging equipment included

11 kW onboard charger (Type 2).

* Charging times will vary and are dependent on factors such as outdoor temperature, current battery temperature, charging equipment, battery condition and car condition.

Car audio system options

The C40 Recharge is available with two audio system options.

Standard - 8 speakers - 7 channels - 250W output

Optional - 13 speakers - 12 channels - 600W output - Subwoofer

Infotainment and driver displays

Driver information that helps keep you in control is shown in the driver display while the center display is a hub for connectivity, Google services, climate control, entertainment and car settings.

Lifecycle carbon footprint

We believe in being transparent about the full carbon impact of our fully electric vehicles. So, we have conducted and published a lifecycle assessment (LCA) of our C40 Recharge twin. The LCA includes all carbon emissions involved in producing the vehicle (including supplier activities, manufacturing and logistics), as well as 200,000km(124,274 mi) of use. Over its lifetime, a C40 Recharge twin has a lower carbon impact than a gas-powered Volvo XC40, irrespective of the charging electricity mix (global, EU or wind). However, the electricity source used when charging the C40 Recharge has a significant impact on its total carbon emissions. Whenever possible, we encourage you to charge using renewable electricity.
